Economic Development Continues Holiday Tradition

Summerville, South Carolina

December 13, 2011 – Now
in its third consecutive year, the Dorchester County Holiday Tree is currently
on display. This unique Holiday Tree
showcases the many products made by the industries of Dorchester County by
displaying them as "ornaments." White
lights and colorful company logos complete this one-of-a-kind tree. "Ornaments" too large or heavy are displayed
beneath the tree.

The
Holiday Tree, on display in the lobby of the Greater Summerville-Dorchester
County Chamber of Commerce Visitors’ Center at 402 North Main Street,
Summerville, was viewed by several hundred people visiting the Chamber during
the holidays last year.

In
addition to the Holiday Tree, a wall display lists the names of each industry
located in Dorchester County with a listing of the products they manufacture.

"This holiday tradition is a fun and festive
way to enjoy the season, while providing our industries with a unique marketing
opportunity that will be seen by anyone visiting the Chamber," said Wendy
Smith, Existing Industry Manager of Dorchester County Economic Development.
