Dorchester County Economic Development Earns SEDC Communication Award

August 14, 2019

Dorchester County Economic Development earned a Superior rating for their newly redesigned website, www.DorchesterForBusiness.com, from the Southern Economic Development Council (SEDC) Communication Awards.

The announcement was made during the organization’s annual conference in New Orleans earlier this month. More than 100 entries were evaluated for graphic appeal, clarity of message, quality of information and positioning/differentiation by economic development consultants, practitioners and design professionals from across the southern U.S.

Updating and redesigning Dorchester County Economic Development’s “gateway to the world” was identified as a top marketing priority for Advance Dorchester, the non-profit funding initiative for economic development in the county. In addition to a more responsive and visually appealing layout, the website’s enhanced analytics make it possible to evaluate where traffic originates and what type of information is driving the highest demand by visitors. These metrics are essential for effective communication and delivery of key messages.

“We are proud to have earned this recognition from SEDC,” said John Truluck, Dorchester County Economic Development director. “Our website is a vital tool in our marketing efforts. We are pleased with the results of the redesign and glad to have that work validated by these esteemed colleagues and industry experts.”
