A new Walmart Neighborhood Market is slated to open in late August or early September.

The store will be built at Central Avenue and Orangeburg Road, which already hosts a Publix and a Mr. K’s.

Phil Keene, director of corporate communications with Walmart Media Relations, said the Neighborhood Market stores are about 38,000 square feet and offer groceries, household supplies and health and beauty products. In addition, there will be a full-service deli and in-store bakery offering custom cakes and fresh-baked items. as well as a pharmacy.

“We are proud to be a part of the Summerville community and we’re very excited to open a Walmart Neighborhood Market there later this year,” Keene said.
