Robert Bosch LLC Wins Palmetto Workforce Partnership Award

Summerville, South Carolina

March 13, 2012 – Representatives
from the Robert Bosch Charleston plant received the 2011 Palmetto
Workforce Partnership Award from the SC Department of Employment and
Workforce. The award was presented during a luncheon on the 22nd of February in Columbia, SC.

Robert Bosch
Charleston won this year’s Palmetto Workforce Partnership Award in the large
business category. The winner was selected based on 5 categories: job creation, innovative partnerships, support
and development of the workforce, quality of work environment, and
environmental awareness. Through Bosch
Charleston’s holistic business excellence approach using the EFQM Model, there
was a great story to tell in each of these categories that ultimately landed
the company this prestigious award.

"We are very proud of this recognition. It shows us that we are on the right path of
balancing our efforts between a successful business and being a good corporate
citizen and employer in South Carolina. We
accepted this award for our Associates that made this award a reality through
their dedication and involvement in the community," said Larry Lautenschlager,
Senior Vice President Manufacturing of Robert Bosch, LLC.

Each year, the SC Department of Employment and Workforce, along with
their workforce partners, join forces to recognize the state’s top employers
for the jobs they provide and the contributions that they make to their various
communities. As the keynote speaker for
this year’s event, Michael L. "Mike" Thurmond, former Commissioner of Labor for the state
of Georgia, presented Bosch with this coveted award after addressing a crowded
room of community leaders and workforce professionals.

Robert Bosch LLC in
Charleston, SC is an automotive component manufacturing plant producing Clean
